Chooses the stack from the brief, owns environments and source, and signs off that the product can go live.
Design
UX and UI for the people who will use the product, not a decoration pass after the code is finished.
QA
Tests against the scope. Defects are recorded against the brief, not discovered as a surprise at launch.
What you can ask before you commit
The names of the account owner and engineering lead for your project. A meeting with those people, not only with sales. How leave, illness and personnel changes are handled, in writing. A walkthrough of a comparable product when the client agrees.
