About the client
MEDii Health, a three-site private clinic in Bristol (two consulting rooms at each site), was booking from a shared reception inbox and paper lists. Patients rang; reception emailed a confirmation; clinicians kept a separate Outlook calendar. Double-booked slots were routine by mid-morning.
Clinical records stayed in the system they already used — that was out of scope. The brief was one diary for patients, reception and clinicians, with SMS and email reminders on a written timetable, and a roster of who can take which appointment type.

Angular on the front, .NET and SQL Server on Azure for the diary and roster. Reminders go through an SMS gateway named in the contract; failed sends land on a staff queue, not a silent mailbox rule.

Functionality
Patient booking by site, clinician and slot with a confirmation the clinic can stand behind One shared diary for reception and clinicians on desk and phone Clinician profiles, credentials and availability by appointment type Email and SMS reminders on a timetable written in the scope Move, cancel and DNA reporting without a second spreadsheet
Solution
Patients pick a site, then a clinician where the roster allows that appointment type, then a free slot. The booking writes the same diary row reception opens at the desk. Reception can move or cancel without touching Outlook. Clinicians see only their own list unless they have a site-wide role. Reminders fire at T−24h and T−2h as agreed. A failed SMS or bounce shows on a staff queue so someone can ring the patient. No clinical notes in this product. Hosting and source stay with MEDii Health under the contract.
Project results
Double-booked slots dropped because there is one write path for a slot.
DNA chasing uses the same list as the morning diary, not a separate spreadsheet.
Reminder failures are visible to staff instead of disappearing into a mailbox rule.
Customer review
“The diary is the same one reception sees. Patients book without calling, and we are not chasing a shared inbox for double-booked slots.”
